“Why call it tourist season if we can't shoot them?” – Towards the Utopian sensitized tourist

This paper argues for increased awareness of local cultures through an educational approach, as it is explored in the CultSense project. The tourist experience a multi-layered phenomenon moderated by dynamic relationship with places visited and populations. A holistic approach to tourism tensions challenges, well more pro-active attitude from all stakeholders involved are important finding strategic solutions. project proposes alternative developing bottom-up initiatives that give voice actors develop global intercultural (young) travellers. dissemination methodological pedagogical tools third parties should add body knowledge around sensitized forms tourism, stimulating non-demeaning non-patronising attitudes achieved grassroots approach.
